MY BACKGROUND
Hi, Sarah Beim (Beim-ish Productions LLC) (she/her) is a freelance assistant editor / editor who has worked on a vast variety of projects ranging in format and genre.
Beim-ish Productions LLC is a solely independent non-union production company. Our mission with this company is to give the underrepresented a voice. As a queer, Jewish female filmmaker, I understand how it feels to be misrepresented in media and wants to change that.
Beim-ish Productions is home to 4 short films, 2 under the main company. cataclysm.begins: The Catalyst (2025), a proof of concept for an upcoming LGBTQIA+ Dystopian series. The proof of concept premiered November 10th 2025 at Big Apple Film Festival. Entangled (2024), a supernatural thriller, finished it’s festival run with 5 acceptances, 2 nominations and now it’s streaming on LesFlicks.com. The other 2 short films are under a sub-company Film Nerd Challenges, a new weekend film challenge we hope to open 2026. t-day (2025), a dystopian, is currently in festivals with 9 acceptances, 5 award nominations and 1 runner-up win from Brightside Film Festival for Best Horror/Thriller short.
I've gotten to freelance on incredible projects by amazing clients. I've worked with award-winning filmmaker Desiree Abeyta for a handful of times. Most recent was her short film "Beyond the Fog" starring actress Paige Davis and before that a short "Anne" that won a handful of awards during its festival run including a Silver Telly. It was also a 2023 Academy Awards “Best Live Action Short” qualifier – FYC.
My skills are very diverse and I have a meticulous eye for detail. Some examples are a keen eye with continuity, pacing. I’ve been trained in Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop. I am very dedicated and hardworking to every project given, big or small. I have loved storytelling ever since I was little. Creating something from nothing is exciting and freeing. I have always been fascinated by dreams, sci-fi, and dystopian. These genres inspired me to create my own unique worlds. A lot of my works are inspired by real-world issues but with a twist, as a way to escape but still shed light on issues that need to be addressed.
